Movie Quiz 29 Answer
Congratulations to …. For the correct answer that the American writer has had his/her stories made into more films than any other?

Perhaps most notable are the movies directed by Roger Corman and starring Vincent Price: House of Usher (1960), The Pit and the Pendulum (1961), Tales of Terror (1962), The Raven (1963), The Masque of the Red Death (1964) and The Tomb of Ligeia (1965). One film, 1962’s The Premature Burial, starred Ray Milland and Hazel Court, with Price notably absent. Perhaps the most famous film adaptation was from his poem The Raven in 1935 starring Boris Karloff, Bela Lugosi
Poe didn’t earn a cent from "The Raven", having published it first in a newspaper for free and thereby losing any and all future copyright monies. The original title of "The Raven" was "To Lenore" The story goes that Poe was having dinner with Charled Dickens and after hearing  of the great writer’s recently deceased pet bird, which just happened to be a raven, Poe reworked the poem to include the black bird as a central figure. It became a classic that has been used in hundreds of publications and films including an episode of The Simpsons.
Although Steven King is also a prolific writer films based on Edgar Allan Poe’s works are still in production so it wont be easy to catch him.
