ORIGINAL 1923 wood block litho Australian daybill approximately 15" x 40", printed by JNO. Evans & Son folded as issued, very fine condition, only slight wear to the borders, small chip out of top rh corner and slight general wear. This poster was found in an attic in Sydney where it has stayed for over 80 years without seeing the light of day. The film was directed by the Australian Fred Granville, who had the distinction of directing Valentino in 1920.
"Long" daybills were produced in Australia until 1940/41 when they were replaced by the more familiar smaller format. Long daybills varied in widths from approximately 14 – 16 inches wide x approximately 40 inches in height. The measurements given in the descriptions are appoximate to the nearest inch.
