Original Australian hand litho long daybill approximately 15" x 40" , folded as issued, fair – good condition, edge wear with edge tears and chips, a six inch tear through the image area which extends through Harry Carey's face repaired with archival tape on the back. Other tears are reinforced on the back with archival tape and a couple of pieces of white paper (see enlarged photo). Despite the defects, the poster displays very well as is and could easily be linen backed.
 
"Long" daybills were produced in Australia until 1941 when they were replaced by the more familiar smaller format.

Trader Horn is a 1931 American adventure film starring Harry Carey and Edwina Booth, and directed by W.S. Van Dyke. It is the first non-documentary film shot on location in Africa. The film is based on the book of the same name by trader and adventurer Alfred Aloysius Horn and tells of the adventures on safari in Africa.
The film's dialogue was written by Cyril Hume. John Thomas Neville and Dale Van Every wrote the adaption. Trader Horn was nominated for the Academy Award for Best Picture in 1931. Edwina Booth, the female lead, contracted a career-ending illness while shooting, for which she sued producers MGM.
