RARE Original 1976 first release Australian daybill approx 13″ x 30″, folded as issued, fine – very fine condition.
Mean Streets appears to have been first released in Australia in 1976 to coincide with the release of Taxi Driver. This poster has only been rarely seen and usually with heavy New Zealand censor stamps detracting from the image. This poster is in the best condition I have ever seen for this title and features the sought after image.

Mean Streets is a 1973 crime film directed by Martin Scorsese and co-written by Scorsese and Mardik Martin. The film stars Harvey Keitel and Robert De Niro. It was released by Warner Bros. on October 2, 1973. De Niro won the National Society of Film Critics award for Best Supporting Actor for his role as John “Johnny Boy” Civello.
In 1997, Mean Streets was selected for preservation in the United States National Film Registry by the Library of Congress as being “culturally, historically, or aesthetically significant”.
