Trudy Kerr Jazz Singer

• Moved to London in 1990
• Worked during the day as secretary for popular clarinettist Acker Bilk
• Trudy also co-presents BBC Radio Kent’s Jazz hour on a Wednesday night with Roger Day where she plays latest UK releases as well as classic jazz recordings.
• Trudy has recently received great reviews for her children’s jazz CD Jazz for Juniors and is currently performing the JAZZ FOR JUNIORS show in schools.
• In January 2002 she married bassist Geoff Gascoyne and in May they had a daughter Ruby and her busy touring schedule took a back seat.
  In 2004 she recorded her fifth CD Cloudburst, followed by the birth of their son Louis in September. The CD was released in Autumn of 2005, and was launched at Ronnie Scott’s followed by a short UK Tour.
• Trudy teaches jazz voice privately and runs vocal workshops. This year she will be once again be teaching on the Jazz Academy Summer School held in Tunbridge Wells.
• One of her musical heroes, Bob Dorough, American singer, pianist songwriter has recently released a CD called ‘Small Day Tomorrow’ for Candid records and she appears on two tracks.
